Balloon Playground Project

Balloon installation of a 'tree'

For my final project idea, I'm really interested in going back to my first project and using the same material because it was a lot of fun to work with. Instead of using un-inflated balloons and pipe cleaners, I will be using full blown balloons to capture an image of a playground. I think that this piece will be strong conceptually because it is using material that works well with the playful aspect of a playground and invokes the viewer's childhood in the piece. I also think that the piece will be visually appealing because I'll be using fun, bright colors that will capture the audience's eye.

A typical playground with some playground equipment I could imitate with using balloon art

I think that the slides and swing sets would be easy to create, but more complex structures like the monkey bars would take some thought to construct.

Using objects to imitate balloons instead of using actual balloons
I also thought about using bold strokes before this balloon idea, and after seeing this image, I thought about using material that could imitate balloons instead of the actual balloons themselves. This would give the project a different feel because the material would be speaking differently - it is more monotone, bland, and plain. I think that this is also an interesting choice to take. Overall, I think that I'm set on this "balloon" idea.
