My piece is growing, yet deteriorating, natural yet unnatural, it is forming and reforming all at once. It is progressive. My final design for my project involves this tree made out of small scraps of wood that I sanded and then carved. My final layout involves four metal circular vessels resting progressively on different parts of the branch. Each tube will contain a different stage of a butterflies life. One: Egg Two:Larva Three: Cocoon Four:Butterfly I want this to be a symbol of time as a vessel. The reason I am using the life of a butterfly is because they grow at a rate where they aren't truly appreciated until they are at their last stage of life. Time we have is a vessel that we do not appreciate to its fullest until its gone. I though that butterflies would be a good example to use for this idea.
